Acceptance of Terms

By installing the Baloney Chrome extension or using the Baloney web dashboard at baloney.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and discontinue use.

Description of Service

Baloney is an AI content detection tool that analyzes images, text, and video for indicators of AI generation. The service includes a Chrome browser extension and a web-based analytics dashboard.

Accuracy Disclaimer

AI detection is inherently probabilistic. Baloney does not guarantee 100% accuracy of its detection results. Results should be treated as informational estimates, not definitive judgments. Do not rely solely on Baloney results for consequential decisions (e.g., academic integrity, legal matters, content moderation).

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Baloney to harass, defame, or falsely accuse others of using AI
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the detection models or algorithms
• Use automated scripts to make bulk API requests beyond normal browsing usage
• Redistribute or resell Baloney's detection results as a commercial service
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls

Intellectual Property

The Baloney community edition is released under the MIT License. The pro edition, including proprietary detection ensembles and third-party API integrations, is not covered by the MIT License and remains the intellectual property of the Baloney team.

Limitation of Liability

Baloney is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Baloney team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to false positives, false negatives, data loss, or service interruptions.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Baloney available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Baloney after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated via the extension or website.
